Latest eBay purchase arrived today, a ford escort mk2 clutch cable. Never used but obviously old stock as it smelt like a musty old mans tool shed. The manual with the kit is vague at best about which parts fit and there is a certain amount of guess work involved. Despite this some research on the web suggested that a mk2 escort clutch cable is the way to go and this one looked very promising. I had to fight hard to keep myself from going straight into the garage when I got home before feeding the cat’s and starting some tea before Jane got home. There is a fine line to be trod between earning brownie points and cashing them in…
Anyway later I made a couple of fixings for the base of the clutch pedal to secure the clutch cable eyelet.

I also made a bracket to fix the cable to the engine mount for support.

All that’s required now is a stop for the clutch pedal but thankfully the clutch pedal seems to work fine. With the car in first and the clutch depressed I can move the car no problem which must mean the clutch is disengaging. Two pedals down and one to go !
