Been a nice weekend for weather and you’d almost think spring was here. So it is appropriate that I have some spring news about the MK. Despite cranking the adjustable springs up on the front of the Indy I couldn’t get the front to return after compressing the suspension. Seems that the spring rates were too low which worried me a little because I inherited the springs with the car when I bought is and they are new so I didn’t really want to have to buy more.
After closer inspection the srings on the rear looked to be a thicker diameter than the front. After checking with a vernier the rear springs were thicker.
I swapped the fronts and rear springs this weekend and guess what? Yep the car now has proper suspension! The front spring rates are obviously higher than the rears. It now sits properly at the front and returns to normal ride height after compressions.

I’ve ordered a brand new 94 VW Polo 1.0 radiator from www.radiatorsonline.co.uk/ this afternoon. I should turn up next week at which point I’m going to have to figure out how to fit it, since there are no brackets it could be a good opportunity to try my welding skills (or lack of) out.
