I know my car isn’t the greenest car around and yes I do seem to use more than my fair share of petrol. I might concede that the trees could see me as a threat and it seems they are taking their revenge on me. On the morning commute today a branch from a tree that had come off worst in a fight with the gales last night whacked my near side mirror that hard that I thought it had come off. Momentary loss of bowel control was narrowly avoided but thankfully no real harm was done.
What to you say to that tree huggers? had I been greener and travelled to work on a 50cc scooter it could have taken my head off, then who’d be sorry
Doing the morning commute earlier this week the skooby seemed to be off the boil a little and lacking some power. Seems a young kamikaze bird was strangely drawn to the turbo air intake, which had done its best to ingest the little chap. Being no Bill Oddie, my best guess is it was a young black bird or to use it’s Latin name Turdus merula. Now very much Turdus Mullered, RIP. Trubute to the Black Bird

My Skooby WRX was in for a 20K service today so I asked for a courtesy car. I normally get some poor little punto that has been bouncing off the red line from new.
To my surprise I was handed the keys to an 06 Subaru Forester (4×4 thing). Unfortunately it was lacking a turbo but it was a step up from the usual punto.
However it had a strange effect on me. I found myself thinking “this is very civilized, quiet and comfortable”, “ok so it hasn’t got a turbo but it’s quick enough”, “I think I may look for a beige overcoat at the weekend, looks like winter is coming, doesn’t time fly; did I lock the front door?…God I need a piss all of a sudden…”
This effect lasted longer than than I care to admit. I got back in the WRX and started thinking the ride in this mota is bloody hard!
The cure came after burying the throttle at 3000 revs to the tune of a spinning turbo and feeling my internals gently rearranged towards the back of my body.
Pheew……
