It’s been a while since my last post so I thought I’d write an update. Largely because in a moment of weakness I put what I thought was a stupidly low bid on a bike on eBay this week never really expecting to win it. After the initial shock of the reserve being met, I remained convince that someone would bid higher at the last minute, well I prayed they would since after being initially seduced enough to put the bid in I suddenly came to my senses and regretted it. So I spent 24 hours cacking myself quietly so that Jane wouldn’t know. Nobody bid on the bike and I now have a 1977 Kawasaki Z1000A1, or at least I will have when I get round to picking it up from Derbyshire.
I also got a bit fed up with the lack of power that the VX had. So I got rid of that too and swapped it for a Porsche. I looked around at various Porsches, 993s, 996s and decided that Boxster was the best bet. I found a really clean 2001 Boxster S with 30K miles in Red at a local dealer and a deal was struck. Really very impressed with the car, it’s build very well and is relatively practical. Not as quick as the old TVR in a straight line and not as quick as the VX round bends but it’s a great compromise between the two.
