After two weeks of working on the Zed in the evenings to get the brakes and various other bits to work; with two tyres fitted and some sunshine I thought I was sorted, however the b@stard thing refused to run at tickover! The plugs were very wet with fuel and the battery was a little bit flat. So I cleaned the plugs and charged the battery. Still wouldn’t run.
From the smell it seemed it was over fueling so I put the fuel tap to the off position and tried it with full choke. At which point it started and ran OK after a little bit of tweaking of the choke and the trottle I got it to idle with the fuel tap back in on position. Ran into the house and got my gear, leaving it to warm up.
Took it steady round to the pertol station and put some fuel in it. Thinking that now it’s not going to start and I’m gunna have to look like a right twonk pushing it back home, to my suprise it fired up first touch of the starter.
We then had a nice hour of plodding round the lanes in the sun. What a great bike, not all that fast by todays standards but really great fun to use round the lanes. Put a big smile on my face at last 😀
